Hey there, Angels!
I've got some exciting news to share with you. Our beloved Fae Guardians eBooks are about to get a mini facelift! 🎉
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Lana, why mess with a good thing?" Well, let me take you on a little journey through the ever-changing world of book covers. I'll let you in on a little secret – I never intended this series to be so long. (Insert past Lana's mocking laughter at future Lana here. I guess, I only have myself to blame. What did I expect when I create a Cadre of Twelve warriors and a mysterious Cadre of Six? Never say never, right?) But as the series grew, so did the genre, and with it, cover design trends.
A Trip Down Memory Lane
Cast your mind back to when "The Longing of Lone Wolves" first hit the virtual shelves. It feels like yesterday, but it's been over four years! (Time flies when you're having fun with fae, right?)
Back then, the fantasy romance genre was just a twinkle in the publishing world's eye. It wasn't the powerhouse it is today. I designed these book covers based on paranormal romance appeal. If there was spice, you needed a mna-chest. But oh, how quickly things change! Almost as soon as I published, cover trends started shifting faster than Rush when his curse broke.
The Evolution of Fantasy Romance
Now, fantasy romance is more established as a genre. Romantasy is taking off. No one minds if there's spice in the book and – shock! – there's no man chest on the cover. Ebook covers need big typography to be read at a smaller level when browsing on Amazon. This leaves little room for much else.
Enter, the object-type cover. It's bold. It's pretty.
I've held onto our beloved man-chest ebook covers for as long as I could. They've served us well, haven't they? But with River's book on the horizon, I think it's time for the Fae Guardians to strut into the future with a fresh look.
The New(ish) Look: A Magical Compromise
Now, don't worry! I haven't gone and changed everything. I know how much you all love our current designs. And they will pry man-chest covers from my cold dead hands. So, I've come up with a compromise that I think will make everyone happy:
- The eBooks are simply the hardcovers but ✨magically ✨ more discreet without the man-jaw.
- The paperbacks will keep rocking the man-chest designs. (Because we still love a little eye candy while reading).
- The hardbacks will continue to showcase the man-jaw designs. (Jawlines for days, am I right?)
To truly appreciate the pretty covers, head over to each product page where you can enlarge an fawn over the shinies like a true crow.
But Wait, There's More!
For all you new readers out there, or those who prefer a more discreet reading experience in paper, I've got plans for you too! When River's book launches (aiming for a Christmas release – fingers crossed!), I'm hoping to have these new designs available in paperback as well.
And for my loyal readers who already own the books but love the new look? I'm thinking of creating special separate jacket sleeves with the new design. This way, you can give your existing books a makeover without breaking the bank. It's like a fashion makeover for your bookshelf!
Why the Change?
Well, it's all about keeping our beloved series fresh and appealing to new readers. The fantasy romance genre has exploded in popularity, and these new covers will help the Fae Guardians stand out in a crowded market.
What This Means for You
This change is all about giving you, my amazing readers, more options. Whether you prefer the classic man-chest, the subtle man-jaw, or the new object covers, there's a Fae Guardians book design for everyone. It's like having a whole wardrobe of book covers to choose from!
Wrapping Up
I'm so excited to share this new chapter of the Fae Guardians journey with you all. Your support has been incredible, and I can't wait to see what you think of the new designs.
Remember, no matter what's on the outside, it's the magic inside that counts. And trust me, the Fae Guardians are as magical as ever!
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, happy reading!
Your fae-vorite author,
Lana 😉✨
Love the Guardian series. Just discovered the series a month ago. After reading the first book bought the all on my kindle and all the audio books on my audible. So excited for Rivers story because I finished book 9 today.
Do we have a release date for the season the crows in the Fae Guardians series?!
Love the books and the old covers. Sigh. Guess I’m getting older too.
